Although it's a rest day today, my mind is still focused on my lack of freestyle skills. I started looking around and one of the resources I came across (and really liked) was TriSwimCoach.com. I should also add that I'm not affiliated with them in any way. I signed up for the free swim tips via email and they were decent quality. The 3rd email led me to the online course they offered, which will run you $89 bucks. Not bad, but I wasn't rushing to sign-up just yet.
I did some more poking around and found out they also have a DVD and while checking out the content of the DVD I found out there's also an app. Hell yeah, instant gratification! I Found the DVD on eBay for $3 bucks and bought the app for 5 bucks (Google Play and iTunes).
Many of the drills included in the App are also on the DVD and my assumption is that the online course has some of the same, but I haven't confirmed that yet.
I'm still waiting to get the DVD, but I've been reviewing the drills in the app and I'm impressed. There's training programs for all the various types of triathlons, including the Sprint (score!). My only complaint is that the glossary should cover all of the terms within the training programs. For example, if you look at the week 1 training breakdown for a sprint, the warm up just says, 200 free. Ok, what the hell does that mean? 200 meters of freestyle swimming? Why is that the warm-up? Shouldn't I start with some drills? Anyway, that's what I'm guessing. I like lots of details.

The drills section includes a nice long list of drills,

a detailed text description of the purpose and how to perform the drill,

and for those who are more visual like myself, there's also a video with multiple camera angles, including below the waterline, which is awesome! Exactly what I've been looking for.

What I really like about the drills section is that they start out very basic and build upon each other in a progression. I'll definitely be adding these as a warm up on the days I'm swimming and plan to add one additional swim day just to practice drills.
Just found out a buddy of mine from work has a community pool and he offered to let me use it! Awesome news! Bad news, it closes down after Labor Day, which is about 3 weeks away. Noooooooooooooo!!!!
That's all for now. Time to hit the sauna.
