I finally reached the point in my training where I got to try the dreaded Brick training session.
I gotta be honest, I've been a little nervous to do one. I had this scenario in my mind where I'd hop off the bike, start running and my legs would be like, you wanna do what? Oh hell no, Shut er down! Haha
In reality, I didn't experience any problems whatsoever. Not saying I wasn't tired and in need of a break, because I absolutely way, just confirming I didn't drop like a sack of potatoes with leg pain. Which was good news.
Based on the sprint triathlon training plan I've been following, this first brick session was supposed to be 30mins of biking followed by 20 to 30mins of easy running.
I had some time constraints, meaning, little ones to get ready for school and a job to go to, so I had to cut it back to 25mins on the bike and 20 mins of running.
For me, this worked out to roughly:
Bike: 5.2 miles total - With a pace of 4:45 - 4:15 per mile
Running: 2.2 miles total - Pace of 9:30 - 10:00 per mile
Not stellar times I'm sure, but I'll take it!
Got to try out the new aero bars on my bike and compared to the last time I rode without em, it felt a little faster.

Also, did I really grab a brick from my front yard and take a picture of it for this post...yes...yes I did.
